Regional AQM Training: One of the project activities is to develop a standardised modular air quality management (AQM) training programme using an approach, which has been applied by several UN agencies in different fields. The project described the regional training development concept in May 2009. Based upon it, the project organised a course developer workshop in early December 2009. The workshop aimed at preparing professionals to apply the methodology in developing new courses or to adapt exiting courses to the standardised methodology and approach to training. Download the papers here.
National Workshop Reports: Together with national counterparts the project organises national workshops in order to disseminate lesson learned from the project once a year. The first workshop had organized in Manila, the Philippines in October 2009. Download a workshop report here.
Vision & Goals for City’s Clean Air
The main objective of the Project is to develop comprehensive Clean Air Plans (CAPs) for smaller cities, and assist cities to implement the plans. The preparatory steps for CAPs comprise of improvement of data on ambient air quality, sources of emissions, immediate actions for transport improvements, enforcement of emission standards for stationary sources and others.
In order to promote acceptance of a CAP by citizens and stakeholders, the project has organised a public participation process. As first step, we have initiated the formulation of visions and goals in the first-two participating cities: Chiang Mai and Nakon Ratchasima (Korat). The documents on vision and goals development process as well as the outcomes from City of Chiang Mai are available here. Please download!
